According to the standards of the lighting industry, the safety performance of lamps can be divided into four levels, namely Category 0, Category I, Category II, and Category III. Below, we explain one by one.

Category 0 lights
It is the type of light with the worst protective performance. This type of light fixture relies primarily on a basic layer of insulation for protection against electric shock, which is the PVC layer on the outside of the wire. Once the wires are damaged or leaky, electric shock accidents may easily occur. At this time, if you still want to have electric shock protection, you can only rely on "tripping" and space "isolation".

Category I lights
The protection against electric shock of this kind of lights mainly relies on basic insulation + ground wire. It is to connect the conductive parts that are easily accessible to people to the protective grounding conductor in the fixed line. In this way, if a person comes into contact with a damaged insulation part, an electric shock accident will not occur.

Category II lights
In terms of protection against electric shock, this type of lights have additional safety measures such as double insulation or reinforced insulation on the basis of basic insulation. It is worth mentioning that this type of lights does not take protective measures for grounding.

Category III lights
This type of lamp specifically refers to a light that uses a safety extra-low voltage power supply, and the light does not generate a voltage higher than SELV (36v) inside the lamp. That is to say, this type of light converts ordinary voltage into a safe voltage of 36v by adding a transformer.
